Can I Have A Skip On My Drive?
When you hire a skip, one of the most important factors is where you’re going to keep it. If you have a private driveway that you think you can use, take a look at our guide to make sure it is suitable.
Size
You need to think about both the size of the skip and the size of your driveway before you proceed with your order. Will the skip fit onto the drive with 3 meters clearance once delivered? Always check the dimensions of your ideal skip size
Damage
Of course, we do our best to make sure no damage occurs when delivering your skip, however, it is definitely a possibility you should consider. In order to deliver safely, your driveway must be suitable in terms of size and material. An example of this would be the need to reverse in, however, a truck cannot go in at an angle so please make sure your property can adhere to such restrictions. Always check with the skip company if you are unsure.
Block paving
If you have block paving on your driveway we know you want to keep it in top condition but you can still have a skip delivered safely! We can use planks of wood supplied by the customer to minimise any damage from the skip or the truck. We can do this with any material, not just block paving. It’s always important to make sure the customer remains satisfied with the service so we like to make sure to reduce damage risks as much as possible.
Don’t have a drive?
If you don’t have access to a private driveway or don’t want to risk damage, you can always use the public space. We will have to obtain a permit from the local council to use it for a certain period of time, and without the permit will result in weekly fines.
Skip hire can cause damage if not planned properly, so always be aware of the potential issues and speak with your skip hire company to plan ahead.
